WINDOWS 7 END OF LIFE - WHAT NOW?
As of today, on January 14 2020, Microsoft will officially stop support for Windows 7devices, putting your business at risk!
HELP! I HAVE WINDOWS 7, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR MY BUSINESS?
Put simply, your Windows 7 devices will stop getting important security updates, which can put your business at risk and make you more vulnerable to cybersecurity threats. Microsoft will no longer be supporting Windows 7, which means that other software providers who subsequently release updates and fixes will stop supporting compatibility with Windows 7 too. Ultimately, this leads to a steady decline where not only are you not supported, but you become more and more vulnerable. Just last year, 32% of businesses suffered from IT Security breaches or attacks. £4,180 is the average annual cost for businesses that gave lost data or assets after a breach (Gov UK, Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2019).
Not only are you more susceptible to cybercrime; you are also putting your customers data at risk, flagging GDPR concerns.
"BUT I'VE HEARD THAT MY WINDOWS 7 DEVICES WILL STILL BE SUPPORTED?"
If your devices use an enterprise or pro version of Windows 7 with volume licensing, you are able to get extended security updates, but at a price. Each year the price for this support will double!
