MICROSOFT 365 - WHY THE NAME CHANGE?
Microsoft recently updated their Office 365 product to Microsoft 365, but why the name change?
Gone are the days that 365 is solely for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Microsoft wanted others to recognise this. The new Microsoft 365 is designed to allow your business to innovate and achieve more through their wide variety of cloud apps.
Make the most of the tools in Microsoft 365
Improved Security
Microsoft 365 brings a new feature to protect users from opening malicious files. ‘Safe Documents’ is a new addition that scans downloaded files from emails or websites.
These files open in ‘Protected View’, are sent to Microsoft’s Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) and are scanned before the file can be fully editable/accessible by the recipient user. Files that are thought to be malicious by the ATP will be unable to be taken off ‘Protected View’ and an alert will be sent to the company 365 dashboard where admins can be alerted.
Improved collaboration with your team
Businesses can use Microsoft Teams to take their communications to the cloud. With Teams, remote working and collaboration is easier than ever. Take advantage of video calling, instant messaging, file sharing, screen sharing, access to Outlook and your favourite apps such as Trello and Adobe. Teams also enables full telephony, allowing others to integrate into their platform, taking away the need for a desk phone.
Easily share documents
Teams fully syncs with SharePoint, meaning your employees can easily upload and share documents in a cloud-backed and secure storage vault, with permissions for certain docs that can be set by your admins with ease.
The latest productivity apps
Microsoft 365 continues to provide users with the latest versions of the Office suite, allowing them to take advantage of the newest features in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and more. Depending on the plan, businesses can take advantage of web-based, mobile or the full desktop applications with an unmatched level of compatibility that you will be hard-pressed to find on other office productivity software.
1TB of Cloud Storage
With more and more businesses realising the effectiveness of remote working, their workers can start backing up their documents and accessing them from remote locations with OneDrive as 1TB of storage is at full disposal with a 365 subscription.
