LILY IS A WORLD CLASS COMPANY TO WORK FOR!

On Friday, Lily celebrated the Best Companies day and we are thrilled to have ranked #27 out of the Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For in the UK!

How has this been measured?

Our people were surveyed a few months ago by Best Companies and from this we managed to retain our 3-star accreditation. It’s even more meaningful this year as the award has been assessed on a global scale, meaning the award accreditation is now “World Class to Work For”.

That’s not the last of the good news! We have also been placed #20 as the Best Company to work for in the Yorkshire and Humber region, and #8 in the Best Telecoms Company category.

Celebrating our success

On Friday the team watched the Best Companies event live. We deemed this our ‘Best Companies Day’, where we also rewarded staff with lunch and decorations. The team dressed in Lily brand colours and there was a great vibe – even for those who were working remotely! The event was streamed on our private Facebook group for everyone to get involved.

In the last 12 months we’ve been working hard to maintain our culture and communication whilst working remotely, therefore we’re so excited that even remotely, we’ve managed to make our staff feel valued and they’ve still voted us highly as one of the best places to work for.

Keeping in touch and being there to support employees has never been more important – especially when working remotely. At Lily, we kept in touch via our weekly Lily Life newsletter and our Facebook group. The Facebook group was launched following lockdown, to keep our company spirit and communication alive. At our virtual Christmas Conference, we launched ‘Health Assured’ which is an employee assistance programme. This gave the full team access to experts in mental health to financial and legal issues. Not only that, but it also provides helpful tips and monthly plans on how to stop smoking, eat healthily and reduce stress.

For employees to stay motivated whilst working from home, we organised free workouts with qualified fitness experts to keep people motivated and as a replacement for our free gym membership perk which couldn’t be used. We also continued with our themed charity days which give people the opportunity to get dressed up and take part in fundraising activities. There’s also been a huge focus on virtual events from Who Wants to be a Lilyionaire, and numerous quizzes to detective games and cook-a-longs. All of our events have been widely promoted and attended by most employees.

We think it’s really important in business to support our colleagues at work as well as enriching their health and wellbeing as this is instrumental to business growth. At the beginning of 2021 we launched our Personal Performance Plan. This is a significant time investment in our people for them to achieve their personal and career goals. Every month, time is allocated to discuss their journey plan and training that can be provided to build up their knowledge and skill, allowing them to get where they want to be.
