BT PRICE INCREASE - SWITCH & SAVE WITH LILY

BT are putting their rates up significantly, could your business be affected? 

What’s happening?

If you’re a BT customer, you may have already received a letter advising of the price rises – these started to go out at the end of January 2020.

BT has announced two price hikes within approximately the last 18 months, the last being around six months ago. Each year they adjust the amount customers pay per month for their plans according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation, plus an additional 3.9%! The CPI rate is announced in January each year.

What does it mean for BT customers? 

Due to the detrimental effect these changes could have, they are giving selected customers 30 days to cancel their contract, without paying a termination charge.

Ofcom introduced this ruling for domestic telecoms customers in 2014, meaning they would be entitled to cancel their contracts when receiving notifications of price hikes.

This rules also extends to small businesses with less than ten staff on contracts starting after 23rd January 2014.
